UBER over BOLT

Publication Design | Typography | Visual Narrative

Real-World Storytelling

This 16-page publication shares the voice of a Bolt driver through a real-time interview conducted during a short ride. With time limits, privacy constraints, and minimal access to imagery, I leaned into expressive layouts, bold typography, and visual metaphor to bring Ahmed’s story to life.

Typography wasn’t just used for readability—it became part of the narrative. Spreads like “Racing against the clock” and “Busy Busy Busy” use type to physically mimic the stress and pace of the driver’s words. These were paired with green-tinted photography and supporting visuals like road graphics and brush strokes to create a sense of movement and mood.

The green and black colour palette was inspired by the Bolt and Uber app branding, visually reinforcing Ahmed’s comparisons between the two services
