A conceptual Earth Day poster using visual metaphor to spotlight climate urgency.
 

I developed a concept-led response inspired by the 2023 Earth Day theme “Invest in Our Planet.” Drawing on insights from the Earth Day website, I chose to highlight climate urgency through a visual metaphor: The power plug doubles as a melting iceberg — symbolising the link between energy overuse and environmental collapse. A polar bear walking across it reinforces the message of environmental fragility.

Designed using Swiss Style principles, I applied a precise grid, bold typography, and a minimal two-colour palette to create structure and clarity. The final piece was screen-printed using spot colours and overprinting techniques, creating a blended gradient to reflect the melting tone of the message.
 

Developed through rapid sketching, research into Swiss design, and climate behaviour patterns, this poster turns a simple everyday object into a powerful call to action — a reminder that even routine habits, like energy use, have global impact.
