Inside a Branding Studio – Interview Publication with Halo Studio
A collaborative project between two designers, this publication was developed following an in-depth interview with Nick Ellis, Creative Founder of Halo Studio. We independently reached out to studios and successfully secured an interview — gaining first-hand insight into creative strategy, branding, and studio culture.
The design takes direct inspiration from Halo’s identity, featuring a layered, laser-cut cover with a standout quote revealed through die-cut forms. We incorporated their colour palette, layout style, and used tape binding to echo the studio’s clean, minimal aesthetic.
The interview offered a close look at how branding studios operate — from collaboration and creative strategy to client dynamics and design thinking. We transcribed and distilled over an hour of conversation into a focused visual narrative that captured Nick’s voice and design philosophy. This project taught me how to confidently approach industry professionals, collaborate effectively, and translate strategic insight into concept-led editorial design.
