The Connection Between Coffee and Mind is a creative, idea-led exploration of how coffee connects to culture, identity, and cognition. The project investigates coffee’s role in different societies, how personal coffee choices may reflect personality and mental performance, and how it functions as both a social ritual and cognitive stimulant.
Research methods included interviews, surveys, and secondary sources to understand how people emotionally and psychologically engage with coffee. A key insight was the role of multisensory perception — how taste, aroma, and visual presentation shape both personal expression and cognitive experience. The project considers how personality traits might correlate with specific coffee preferences, offering a lens into identity and behaviour.
Creative Strategy: Rather than illustrating coffee’s impact in a direct or literal way, the project took shape as a visually driven table book — balancing informative content with artistic layout and expression. The aim was to make data feel tangible, beautiful, and intuitive: something anyone could pick up, flip through, and connect with on multiple levels.
